TLC’s Say Yes To The Prom hosted an all-expenses paid prom, for uptown’s Inwood Academy’s first-ever graduating class – Let’s check it out!

TLC’s SAY YES TO THE PROM initiative returned to NYC on Thursday, February 15 to make prom dreams come true for Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School’s first graduating class! As part of winning TLC’s inaugural “Win A Dream Prom for your School” contest, Inwood Academy seniors received an all-expenses paid prom, complete with dinner and dancing, a mobile airbrush station, formal and fun photo opportunities, prizes, giveaways and more featuring Monte Durham of TLC’s SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA. This event took place at Current at Chelsea Piers and quickly became an unforgettable prom experience for the students.
Inwood Academy was announced as the winner of TLC’s inaugural “Win A Dream Prom for Your School” contest in November 2017 and received a complimentary prom “shopping day” on January 25, 2018.
A few weeks ago, participating students chose from a glittering selection of 2,500 Macy’s donated dresses, bags and accessories to complete their prom look, including a special collection of 500 dresses from the SAY YES TO THE PROM line available exclusively at Macy’s. Other partners contributing to Inwood Academy’s winter prom include Sean John, Katy Perry Collections, AT&T, George Worrell Style, and more.
The NYC winter prom event marks the second stop on the seventh annual SAY YES TO THE PROM tour, which will this year impact nearly 1,000 students across the United States, making prom dreams come true in Miami, Tampa, Houston, Knoxville and at Discovery Communications’ global headquarters in Silver Spring, Md. For the third consecutive year, a 60-minute SAY YES TO THE PROM special will premiere on TLC on March 24 at 9/8c. The SAY YES TO THE PROM tour will be making special stops in Miami, Tampa and Houston for students who have been impacted by the 2017 hurricanes.
