TRAVELING OUTFITS FOR THE SUMMER

TRAVELING OUTFITS FOR THE SUMMER

It might seem hard to stay dandy, while traveling in the summer. Especially in this NYC heat! But don’t worry, I got you guys covered with traveling outfits for the summer!

TRAVELING OUTFITS FOR THE SUMMER

So come aboard the Dandy express, first class ticket to traveling in style. For this post, I’m going to share with you guys three key looks, each highlighting travel must-haves. I’m really into versatility, which is key in traveling (you don’t want to carry over 9000 pounds worth of clothes while you’re traveling through the beaches of St. Tropez or the ruins in Mexico, right?). Each look has pieces you can mix and match interchangeably with the others, providing maximum travel mileage and style points (Yes! Who doesn’t love points?).

TRAVELING OUTFITS FOR THE SUMMER

Wherever I go, I always believe in looking well put together. I always put my best foot forward. When I walk through the airport terminal of a new city, I want to make a good first impression in my new home for the next few days. So this is my version of airport style (Who said only the celebs can look polished when they travel?). For this look, I used simple, versatile, comfortable basics, like a great pair of jeans, a cotton shirt, practical shoes, and a neutral blazer. If you want to bring an outfit to the next level, just add a blazer. A blazer always brings a look together, and looks casually cool with jeans. This combination of pieces makes a very practical and ideal flying outfit. I finished the outfit with my signature fun dandy-approved accessories, like a lapel pin, watch, and some cool shades, to add some polish to the look. Super comfortable, yet Dandy. Pilot, we’re ready for takeoff!

shorts and a pink blazer wearing loafers

For the second look, I wanted something a little more casual and sporty, but still dandy for a day of exploration in my new city. So keeping in mind that its summer time and warm, I’m definitely going to be wearing my shorts and a casual knit top, but with a twist to keep in line with the aesthetic. I paired my shorts and knit top with a linen blazer and dress shoes for that right amount of sophistication, but still sporty and cool. What keeps this look casual and not stuffy is the causal Henley knit top and shorts, juxtaposed with a linen suit jacket and dress shoes. I’m a big fan of mixing the highs and lows because it gives an outfit depth. I believe in wearing suiting essentials year round. The key lies in light airy fabrics, such as linen and stretch cotton, which are very breathable fabrics (A sweating profusely dandy is definitely not dandy). I finished the look with some cool shades, a fun lapel pin, and a watch. Now we’re ready to explore downtown and take in the sites! Trevi Fountain, Café in Paris, here we come!

summer style with shorts
Well since its vacation, a dandy has to let loose a little and untie the bow tie, and get some rest and relaxation. But a true dandy never falters, not even at the beach. So for my third look, I wanted to share with you guys how to dandy-ify your beach look with easy to pair basics and accessories. This look is all about the accessories to take your beach outfit from fun in the sun to sipping on some cocktails at the funky beach side bar. I styled my swim shorts with two very easy to match basics in neutral colors, a light crisp/cotton linen shirt and navy slip on sneakers to dress up my beach shorts. I topped off the look with a cool panama hat (a summer essential, especially for that after beach hair!), edgy sunglasses, a simple watch, and of course my phone to capture all my dandy memories. I’m ready to head out to the bar. Bartender, another martini please!
