What to wear for July 4th without seeming like you support the American government? It’s a toughie but very easy if you follow these tips.
What TO WEAR FOR JULY 4TH
1. Don’t wear the flag
Here’s an easy one. It’s technically not patriotic to wear the flag on your clothes. Perfect!
The U.S. Flag Code says you’re not supposed to sell or display anything that has an image of the flag on it for advertising purposes.
The Flag Code isn’t enforceable by law. There’s no flag police (yet). But it’s in the official guideline on how people are supposed to treat the flag. You might think you’re being patriotic by wearing it on your clothes, but the Flag Code says it’s disrespectful.
2. Wear whatever you want
What’s more American than freedom of speech? Wear whatever you want.
Cheers!
