WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF STYLE?

Style is an interesting topic to approach, because it can be defined in so many different ways. What may be stylish in one culture may not be stylish in another, and as Harry Styles has recently proven, oftentimes, the hard and fast limits we place on style can be broken in an instant if you have enough confidence and intelligence to pull it off.

But what are the essential elements of style? How should you choose to feel more stylish if you wanted to make that effort? More than anything, how can you define your own style?

Well, it’s worth considering these questions outside of the scope of just fashion. Someone browsing 2020 Palisades for sale will no doubt care about how their vehicle contributes to their image. A great handshake can also showcase confidence, and eye contact, strength and bravery all have a style of their own when expressed healthily.

So, we have already considered that style is malleable and open for interpretation. But what universal principles can be found here? In the words below, we’ll begin to consider that:

Experimentation

Style is never a static concept. It can be tremendously health for us all to take some time to recognize that. While the suits of the 50’s and classic wear are still something we can enjoy, what works for you now? If it’s that, great! If not, why not try something new? Experimentation isn’t just about finding what’s novel, but what’s novel for you. It’s about taking risks, even if that’s with a fragrance, or in wearing a new hat, or body art, or in unapologetically wearing an item you had retired until now. If style isn’t exciting, it’s nothing at all.

Being Bold

It’s fun to be bold. Too often we can place artificial limitations on our tastes, but who for? Of course, some people may wish to give off a certain impression, but that doesn’t mean they should be married to it. Being bold means being unapologetic, even if that means wearing something you wouldn’t always wear. Look at one of the most popular fast-food reviewers on YouTube, a young man who wears classic suits and combed-back hair because it makes him happy. Is he lacking in style? Almost certainly not, in fact he’s become something of an icon on the platform. His example should help you lift some of your self-imposed limits.

Staying Authentic

What’s most important is staying authentic to you and what you like. Sometimes, you have to work that out publicly. That’s absolutely fine, too. But if you love wearing a certain type of clothing, or you want to bring back an outdated style, or if you’re always following every trend, what matters is doing this for you, not to become celebrated by others – even if that’s a nice addon. This authenticity of style is often what we’re missing, but we all know it when we see it. It’s why artist like David Bowie or Prince can be so ‘out there’ while still seeming completely natural in their garments.
