WANT TO GET OUT MORE? HOBBIES THAT’LL KEEP YOU IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Do you find yourself inside more often than not? Don’t worry, it’s something a lot of us are dealing with these days. Maybe you’re starting to get bored, and you’re sick and tired of staring at the same four walls?

You’re also not alone! However, if you want to get out more often, you’re going to need something to do while you’re out there. And thankfully, there are many outdoor hobbies you can take up that’ll help you to take in more fresh air and good sun. Here are some ideas to inspire you.

Camping

Going camping is something we do a lot as a family, but if you live alone it can still be a great way to spend time outdoors. Pitch a tent, build a fire, roast food (mainly marshmallows) over the flames and then hit the hay in your sleeping bag – it’s a great way to unwind. And seeing as you’ve got a tent for a shelter, camping can be done for days on end. You can spend as much time as you like in the great outdoors without having to head home again.

Archery

Archery is an old sport that many people still swear by. After all, you won’t need to invest in .300 blackout for this one; you just need a bow and arrows to use it with. And arrows tend to be reusable, which often works out a lot cheaper. But to get started, find an archery range near you and sign up for some lessons, or find an experienced tutor who can help you aim and loose in your own backyard. You’ll still be out and about, you just won’t need to go too far from home!

Trail Cycling

Going cycling is a good way to get from A to B, but it’s also an excellent way to see more of the world. And when you’ve got robust nature trails around you, getting on your bike to traverse them is a great form of exercise. It’s quicker than walking, meaning you can get even the longest hikes done in an afternoon and be home on time for dinner. And when you’ve got a reliable set of wheels to get about, you can slowly build up your stamina and go even further each time.

Climbing

A little more technical than the other skills on this list, but climbing is a good way to build strength and try out a feat that very few people manage to do. Climbing takes a bit of practice, but if you head down the gym and have a go on the climbing wall, you’ll be doing real rock faces in no time. The more you climb, the higher you’ll go, and the better views you’ll experience at the top. There’s nothing better than looking down and knowing you came all that way.

If the great outdoors is calling, answer it with hobbies like these! They’ll help you get much more out of life’s natural offerings.
