Instagram is without a doubt the world’s most popular social media platform. It is used by people from all over the world. Most people that use the platform post regular photos, showcasing where they are, what they are doing, and how they live their lives.
It is very common for people to post holiday and vacation pictures on the platform, too. In fact, some people only ever post such pictures.
This post will now explore this topic, telling you about some of the most Instagrammable places in the world, that you can visit, and take pictures in.
Rome
Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, mainly due to its mix of ancient, classical, and modern architecture. Annually, millions visit the city. It is fair to say that Rome is this list’s most Instagrammable city since it’s almost impossible to take a bad picture there. Every street looks incredible. Also, there aren’t many places in the world where you can take selfies in buildings over 2,000 years old, like the Colosseum. You can buy tickets for the Colosseum in Rome online, as well as a tour. Make sure that you buy your tickets online from a reliable vendor, rather than from a tout outside. Touts hang around outside tourist attractions in Rome, selling overpriced and sometimes fake tickets. Some other places that are great for photos are the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and of course, the Vatican Museum.
London
London, with its quiet cobblestone streets and Tudor pubs, is another fantastic place to go for the purpose of taking pictures. The only problem with London is that now, modern buildings outnumber classical ones. What this means is that you have to be very selective about where you go, in order to take good pictures. That said, the classical buildings that do still exist (i.e., Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, or Big Ben) are really great and are instantly recognisable. In terms of things to do, London is fantastic because most of its museums and galleries are completely free to enter.
Paris
Paris is another great European city to visit if you are interested in taking incredible photographs. One of the greatest places to go if you are interested in photography is the top of the Eiffel Tower or the top of the Arc de Triomphe. You have to pay to enter both, but the amount you have to pay is very little. From the viewing deck at the top of the Eiffel Tower, you can get panoramic views of Paris. The Arc de Triomphe’s viewing deck is also fantastic, though nowhere near as amazing as the Eiffel Tower’s.
Tangier
European cities aren’t the only places that you can go to take incredible pictures, North Africa has also got some amazing spots for you to visit. Tangier is known by most people as where the ‘beat revolution’ started, with authors like Paul Bowles, William S. Burroughs, and Alan Ginsberg all living and staying there, writing and living bohemian, unrestrained lifestyles. It was also the home of famous art dealer Christopher Gibbs, a friend of Mick Jagger. Tangier has incredible pastel-painted houses, a fantastic view of the Mediterranean, and delicious food. It is somewhere that everybody should visit once in their lives.
Egypt
It would be impossible to mention North Africa without also mentioning Egypt. Egypt, for obvious reasons, is a fantastic place to visit if you want to take photographs. A lot of people go purely to visit the pyramids (and take pics there), but there are many other places that you can go, too. Consider taking a tour out into the desert, or a riverboat trip on the Nile. Do not attempt to do either thing on your own though, the desert abounds with snakes and scorpions, and the Nile man-eating crocodiles.
Jordan
Jordan is famous for a number of reasons. However, the reason that most people go there today is to see the ruins of Petra, an ancient city carved into the side of pink sandstone cliffs. Like in Egypt, you can take tours out into the desert. Again, make sure that you only ever attempt to go out into the desert with a guide. Doing so on your own could lead to you getting hurt or lost. You can either drive out there, or you can take a hike. The pictures that you will come back with from your trip to Jordan will be incredible.
Taking good pictures on Instagram can get you recognised and turn you into an influencer. However, before you can take good pictures, you first need to go to incredible places, like those listed here. The setting of your picture is just as important as the subject, or in other words, you and what you are wearing.
