The Bronx showed up as Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson proudly announced this year’s Bronx Walk of Fame honorees during an exciting press conference. As someone born and raised in the borough, it’s always powerful to witness our community’s legacy being honored and uplifted. These events aren’t just ceremonies — they’re milestones for the culture.
What is the Bronx Walk of Fame?
The Bronx Walk of Fame stretches across 23 blocks along the Grand Concourse, a major thoroughfare in the Bronx—New York City’s northernmost borough. Street signs along the route pay tribute to individuals who have lived in the Bronx and made significant contributions to society. While many honorees are well-known figures in the arts and entertainment, the Walk of Fame also recognizes everyday heroes and community changemakers. New inductees are selected each year as part of an annual tradition.

The 2025 Bronx Walk of Fame inductees are:
- Kemba Walker – Beloved NBA player and now Charlotte Hornets coach, whose Bronx roots and sports legacy earned him his place on the Walk.

- Devon Rodriguez – Viral artist and storyteller originally from Mott Haven, whose portraits and videos have touched millions around the world.

- Judy Torres – The “Queen of Freestyle,” whose music shaped an era and continues to inspire generations.

- Damian Priest – WWE Superstar and Bronx martial artist turned world champion, representing strength and grit.

- Gary Axelbank (People’s Choice Award) – BronxNet legend and long-standing voice for the borough’s stories.

In addition to the Walk of Fame inductees, Derrick “D-Nice” Jones was awarded the prestigious Key to the Borough, celebrating his global cultural impact and dedication to community through “Club Quarantine” and beyond.

Tourism Awards were also presented to:
- The New York Yankees ⚾
- The Bronx Music Heritage Center 🎶
Both institutions continue to serve as anchors for Bronx pride, creativity, and economic development.
And in a tech-forward move, Luis Garcia of the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BXEDC) unveiled the new Bronx Walk of Fame mobile app — now available on the App Store and Google Play. It allows users to explore honoree profiles, navigate past inductees, and connect with the legacy of The Bronx in a dynamic way.

The event was hosted by Bronx talents April Hernandez Castillo and Summer Rose Castillo — a mother-daughter acting duo who brought warmth and humor to the celebration.
This is more than just a local event — it’s a bold declaration that The Bronx continues to raise legends.
