Styling a Brooks Brothers Haul – Classic Pieces with a Modern Twist

I recently received a package from Brooks Brothers, and I couldn’t wait to try on the pieces and show you how I styled them. Brooks Brothers is known for its timeless menswear, and this haul was all about incorporating classic staples into a modern wardrobe, with a few unexpected twists. Let’s dive into the details of each item and how I made them work for my style.

Sizing Guide – My Fit and Why I Chose These Sizes 📏

For reference, I’m 5’7” and 150~ lbs, and in 2024, I am aiming for a slightly wider fit. Here’s why I chose the sizes I did:

• Blazer: I opted for a size 38 regular in the linen blazer. It provides a relaxed fit without being too baggy, which is perfect for layering and keeping cool in warm weather.

• Shirt: The 14.5 neck and 33 sleeve length ensure a clean, fitted look. I like that Brooks Brothers offers shirts by neck and sleeve size, giving me a precise fit without needing alterations.

• Pants: I chose women’s wide-leg pants in a size 10. Since I wanted a high-waisted, wide-leg look, this size gave me the right amount of room. Although I’ll need some alterations for the perfect fit, it was worth choosing this size for the style I was going for.

1. The Perfect Linen Blazer for Summer ☀️

First up, I unboxed a linen blazer, and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time. With the weather being really weird, a breathable and lightweight blazer like this is a must-have. Linen is naturally cooling, and this blazer is no exception—mega breathable and slightly see-through, which makes it the ideal choice for those hot summer days when you still want to look sharp. I styled it with a casual shirt and pants, but this piece can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

2. The Tailored Cotton Shirt – A Must-Have for Every Closet 👔

Next, I tried on a 100% cotton shirt with a spread collar. Brooks Brothers tailors these shirts by neck and sleeve length for a precise fit, and for me, that’s a 14.5 neck and 33 sleeve. Perfect for any occasion, even a baptism! The tailored fit makes it look clean and polished, and the spread collar adds a touch of sophistication. This is a staple piece that every guy should have in his wardrobe—it’s versatile, classic, and easy to pair with both casual and formal outfits.

3. Wide-Leg Pants from the Women’s Section – A Bold Move That Paid Off 💪

Here’s where things got interesting. I wanted a pair of wide-leg pants, and the only ones available were from the women’s section. So, I went for it! These are a size 10 women’s pants, and I love the high-waisted fit. They’re roomy and comfortable, but I’ll likely need to get them tailored a bit for the perfect fit. I used a simple trick—pulling the excess fabric at the back and securing it with a belt when wearing a blazer—because no one’s going to notice the back when the blazer is on! It’s a creative solution that worked well for this look.

4. Finishing Touches with a Classic Sweater 🧥

I also tried on a medium-sized sweater from Brooks Brothers. While it wasn’t styled exactly how I’d normally wear it, it fit well and added a nice layer to the outfit. Depending on the occasion, I might tuck it in or roll up the sleeves for a more relaxed vibe. It’s another versatile piece that can easily transition from casual to dressy.
