It may not happen very often, but wardrobe upgrades can be one of the nicest things that you do for yourself occasionally.

Whether you are upgrading the jewelry that you wear, accessories that you use in terms of ties or belts, or you really do need a full overhaul including everything from T-shirts to socks and beyond, there are some signs out there that can tell you whether or not a wardrobe upgrade is a good idea.

When it comes to clothing, a year is quite a long time to hold onto some clothing pieces, and whether you are upgrading to Alden shoes from your regular supermarket brand, or you are choosing to buy some designer handbags, we’ve got several signs that you really do need a wardrobe upgrade at last.

  • You are taking too long to choose what to wear. If you’re finding it harder and harder to pick what’s the weather and it’s time you upgrade what you’ve got. You should be able to feel excited about the clothing in your wardrobe right down to the shoes, and creating a wardrobe that is a no-brainer when it comes to picking outfits is the ultimate goal. Indecisiveness about great clothes as one thing, but if you’re feeling indecisive about excellent quality and not having any outfits to match that’s quite another. Upgrading your wardrobe is going to help
  • Your clothes are no longer fit. Whether they don’t fit because you are too big or too small does not really matter. Important thing here is that you recognise that your clothing doesn’t fit you. Your body is going to change over time, whether you are male or female, and your wardrobe needs to change with it because there’s nobody out there that feels comfortable wearing clothes that are too small.
  • You haven’t shopped for ages. When was the last time you bought clothing for your wardrobe? If you can’t remember, it’s been longer than a year, then you need to go shopping. Your wardrobe shouldn’t look the same as you get older your tastes are going to change. If you are noticing that your wardrobe is looking exactly the same as you did 10 years ago then you need to change. It’s time to go shopping and upgrade.
  • It’s just not reflecting who you are anymore. If your wardrobe no longer communicates who you are then you really do need to think about upgrading it. Every single item of clothing that you have should reflect your current personality, not the personality of who you were many years ago or who you plan to be in the future.
  • Things are damaged. If you have holes in your clothes or rips in the side of your jeans or in the back of your jeans, then you need to change up what you’ve got and make sure that you are getting rid of all of the damaged clothing. There is no need to continue to keep items that are ripped or torn in your wardrobe because all it does is take up space for the good clothes!
