Sharing Your Company Culture

In the words of Brian Kristofel, Upshot CEO, company culture is precisely what means that your business is perceived as “being a great place to work”. It is the “difference between being a good company and a great company.”

Larry Seen shares a similar thought about company culture:

“Culture is not an initiative. Culture is the enabler of all initiatives.”

Why is company culture so important? Company culture is a lot more than a set of rules and guidelines. It is about creating an environment where your employees feel connected, motivated, and happy.

To put it in simple terms, company culture is the personality of your business. It includes essential values and beliefs. Employees may join a company for the challenges of a role or because of the pay. But company culture is the reason why they stay.

A vibrant company culture fosters a sense of belonging. It can keep your employees engaged and motivated, which means they are more likely to want to stay with your company.

So, this leads us to the main question every business owner is asking: How can you share a strong company culture? Creating it is one thing. But how do you make sure your people know about it and embrace it?

Plan workshops together

Perhaps, the most effective way to share the company culture and ensure that everybody is on board is to throw workshop or team-building events. These events are a great opportunity to learn about the company culture together.

You can also add more elements to reinforce the sense of belonging within the team. For example, it’s not uncommon to invest in customizised branded t-shirts, using ready to press DTF transfers. As simplistic as it might sound, wearing the same t-shirt can truly bring people together and encourage them to see past their differences. Ultimately, company culture can only exist when your team chooses to act as a team.

Organize meaningful charity activities

What are the core values of your company and how can you best bring them to life?

For businesses, it’s all about finding meaning in the team’s activities. This is where charity events shine. You can choose charity activities that resonate with your values.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s volunteering at a local shelter or participating in a charity run. As long as it brings your team together for a common cause, it will bring your values to life.

Publish a guide on your company culture

Ask yourself: How can your team know about your company culture if you don’t talk about it? You may want to prepare a comprehensive guide that can explain your values, mission, and goals. Ideally, it should be accessible internally for all employees, but also externally where prospective investors, partners, and job seekers can find it too.

Day-to-day Interactions and decisions

Now that you’ve shared your company culture, you want to make sure you embody it in every decision and interaction. You know the saying: People don’t do what you say, they do what you do. So, if you want your company culture to be followed and embraced, managers and business owners need to become role models.

Is your company culture shared and known across your business? It’s time to make it happen and create an environment where your team can embody your values and missions!
