One day, we’re all going to be back living and loving our normal lives.

After having been stuck indoors for so long, many of us will want to stretch our legs by immediately going on a weekend or week-long vacation. Of all the places you could go, Miami should be at the top of your list. This is a place with sun, sand and incredible leisure activities. As soon as you enter the city, it feels like a city that was designed purely just for fun. There are hundreds of cuisines to choose from, amazing restaurants, brilliant beach street food stalls, fantastic sunbathing spots and lots of cocktails and ice cream. What’s not to love?

Sand for miles and miles

Of all the beaches you should visit, Crandon Park is by far the best. You wouldn’t believe the sheer quality of the sand. Quality!? Yes, it’s soft, warm and quite refined. It doesn’t stick between your toes as much as the thicker, coarse sand you would find in wetter climates like the UK or France. You’re surrounded by palm trees. Everywhere you look, the glorious lime green leaves and white-brown trunks of the palm trees are swaying in the gentle wind. As you can imagine, this park is huge. It’s 808-acres in total, so you have miles and miles of space to walk, run, or do sporting activities.

You’re also away from the mainland and the park is in Key Biscayne. Takes the 913 highway from Brickell Hammock in the south-east of Miami. This will lead you past another island called Virginia Key. Crandon Park also has 26 tennis courts as part of the Miami Open. There are over 3,000 park spaces in the park, which helps for those who are on a road trip.

A man’s man mission

Miami isn’t just a superb location for surfing, but for charter fishing too. Some of the wildest monster fish can be seen and indeed caught just off the shore. If you head down to Coconut Grove, you’ll find a daytime swordfish charters company by the name of Double Threat Charters. Expect to catch some huge fish, sometimes weighing up to 500-lbs! Don’t worry about anything if you’re a novice. You’ll have experts guiding you every step of the way. They have personally chosen the boat that does the job. They’ve purposefully designed the hull to brave any waves but also designed the deck so it’s large enough to haul up the biggest catches possible. The best techniques are deep dropping during the day as well as drifting at night for the fish that like to hunt at night. Only the best bait available is used, such as squid and belly baits. Swordfish fishing is incredibly exhilarating because they’re known to be strong, squirmy and they don’t get out of the water without a fight. It’s a mission for a man’s man.

By the bay

The Bayside Marketplace is the place to be when the sun goes down. It has a great nightlife atmosphere. It’s a classic Miami public port which means you could hire a boat during the day or for the weekend and tie up in the bay. Hire bikes for an evening or nighttime ride. Aqua tours are held by El Loro and Island Princess. You’re taken around the market as well as the bay, giving you a full panoramic view of the dining and shopping options.

Miami is going to be in the top 5 places to go this spring and summer. Everyone’s going to want to be first in line to surf, fish, shop and dine in this amazing city. The beaches are simply second to none. The sand is soft and warm and the palm trees just add to the exotic atmosphere.
