Think of a nice hoodie as the casual version of your cardigan. By adding a hoodie under the suit, it shows that you are at least thinking about what you’re wearing.
HOW TO WEAR A HOODIE WITH A SUIT
This post was updated on March 20, 2020.
I was up in Rochester this past weekend visiting friends and I knew I didn’t need a typical “Suit and tie” for any of the things I would be doing. I was going to be outside a lot, it was going to be casual, and I’m going to around farms. I thought this would be the perfect time to try out my new travel suit from Frank + Oak.
WHAT IS A TRAVEL SUIT?
So what makes a suit travel worthy? The difference comes with the type of material the suit is made with. Many use a high-twist wool yarn to create a crease-resistant cloth. While not 100% wrinkle free, it will get you through all day meetings and survive snug suitcases. I wore this suit for 5 hours while riding the bus and at a county fair. No wrinkles can be seen in the photos and I felt comfortable as well.
I wore a hoodie since I was trying to not care. I kept it casual but still “Dandy In The Bronx.” When picking out hoodies, keep it minimal with no logos. I prefer zip ups rather than pull overs since I can show off more layering.
Since I’ve written this post, Frank + Oak no longer offers the travel suit. I’ll share some similar looking pieces below.

The travel suit also came with matching joggers (my first!). For travel, I definitely believe the hype. It also has matching slacks so I can switch. I always think about versatility when I get new pieces and this passes the test. Time to go to the fair.
