Are You Using Your Garden Space Properly?

Gardening is a great hobby for outdoor and decor enthusiasts alike. However, even though gardens are mostly known for being scenic places, you can squeeze a lot of practicality and function out them!

Whether you’ve got a large garden, a small lawn, or even just half a yard with no plants in sight, you can plan out the design to make sure you’re using the space properly. All you need to do is make sure you’ve got the three things below locked down tight – check them out.

Can You Be Outside, No Matter the Weather?

If you can’t, this is the first thing to fix. When it’s been set up just right, the garden can be used as another room of the home. That means putting up weather proof covering, such as an awning or a gazebo, and placing rain resistant furniture underneath.

You might not want to spend much time out there when it’s cold and wet, but if you don’t even have the chance to, you’re not going to end up liking your garden all that much! Whether it’s hot or cold, wet or dry, or foggy and misty, make sure you have some weather protection out there that works for you.

Are You Getting Maximum Storage Out of the Shed?

How big is your shed, compared to how much needs to go into it? For many people, the shed turns out to be a lot smaller than they really need, but you shouldn’t put up with this lack of storage space. Say you need to fit a battery chainsaw in there, or a ride on a lawn mower (if your garden is big enough for one) – where will you safely and securely keep such dangerous equipment?

Do away with any shed that doesn’t fit the bill. Extend the one you already have or buy a new one that has a lot more to offer, depending on the exterior space you’ve got to work with. The more storage space you have outside, the easier it’s going to be to work your garden and turn it into the outdoor space you’ve dreamed of. It’ll certainly look a lot neater because of it!

Does the Landscape Flow Properly?

How have you set up your garden? If you look at it from one end, does it look quite uneven from where you’re standing? Maybe a lot of it rolls to one side and makes the whole scene look imbalanced? Then there’s a good chance the landscape doesn’t flow properly.

To get any true satisfaction out of your garden, you’re going to need to fix this. You can do this by changing around the layout, and then carrying out landscaping tricks to refit the lawn, such as putting new borders in, planting new bordering plants, or simply clearing it all out and replanting so things complement their position properly.

So, are you using your garden space properly? If not, you could be missing out on lots of functionality!
