Fashion with substance. NYC-based Public School brand has recently partnered with Courvoisier to create a necktie handmade here in NYC.
But what makes this tie special is that it’s made with deadstock Super 120s wool! What does that even mean?!
Deadstock fabrics are the left over fabrics of other fashion houses who overestimated their needs. Traditionally, brands would hold on to their excess fabrics for a few seasons and then send them to the landfills.
What about Super? The numbers denote the fineness or thinness of the individual fibers that were spun into the yarn which was woven into the cloth which was sewn into a suit. The higher the number, the thinner the fibers, hence the smoother and silkier the cloth feels! This is a refined tie, perfect for all the special occasions in your life.
In summary, the necktie is made with deadstock Super 120s wool suiting in a black-on-black combination with silk twill. The ties are hand made in a New York City facility and finished with zig-zag stitching and a small woven co-branded logo for a truly bespoke final product. It is a statement piece for elevating work attire or celebrating life’s greatest moments or gifting to someone special .
