Purpose. It’s what drives us. It’s what makes us seek to achieve great things. Whether it’s to become a great artist or just wake up in the morning at 6am to work on passion projects, purpose keeps us going. I met up with Richard and Wesly of BROOKLYN WOLF and I heard their purpose. They left their cushiony finance jobs to solve a fit problem they see in the menswear industry. The guys at BROOKLYN WOLF, are seeking to provide better fitting trousers for lean athletic individuals.
I always advocate for fit. No matter what you wear, it should fit well. The guys at BROOKLYN WOLF believe in that as well. So they developed trousers that not only fit, but also feel good when you are sitting on front of a computer screen or presenting that keynote. Their purpose was to make pants that fit off the rack and would work for the everyday guy.
Ricard let me try on a pair, specifically the skinny athletic ones. As a guy with sensitive skin and big thighs, I could immediately feel a difference. Made with Super 100s wool, I could see myself wearing these pants for 10 hours straight. It’s the middle of summer as I write this and my legs were able to breathe in the fabric as well. I asked them, so what makes this different than any off the rack pair I could find? Richard’s response was “Traditionally, brands offer a skinny, slim and regular fit that begins tapering down from the thigh. Men, who are active and athletic would often have to size up to fit their larger hip and thigh. This causes a not-so-flattering look due to their belt pulling in fabric. We’re here to fix that.”
It made sense to me, I could feel the difference, the care, and the love behind the craftsmanship of their trousers. Can’t wait to see these trousers in some real action.
