In my quest to find unique places in the Bronx, I stumbled upon Gunhill Brewery. It was a cold Tuesday night. When nerd-in-nice-clothes and I finally reached the Brewery, I thought it was closed! When I was ready to give up, nerd took the initiative and tried to open the door. It turns out it was open, the strong wind flipped over the old fashioned sign.
When we entered, we were greeted by a large open space and picnic tables. I’ve never seen this in the Bronx.
HISTORY
The bartender greeted us and was able to explain all the beers and even a little bit of history behind the actual Gunhill. A lot of people died.
BLACKEST NIGHT
My first beer of the night was the award winning Void of Light. Like a black hole, this coffee flavored stout lived up to its namesake.
BRIGHTEST DAY
Next up was the Gun Hill 13 Star XIPA. Made with a variety of fruits and hops, this drink was strong. This drink ends with a hint of pear.
