Bronx Fashion Week Returned May 9th, 2015 this time at the landmark Old Bronx Courthouse. This event is a chance for Bronx designers to showcase their lines in their hometown. Hosted by the Bronx’s own, ’‘LaBruja’’ Caridad De La Luz. The event also had Bronx vendors, including Charlie’s Bar & Kitchen, Landin Mac & Cheese, Bronx Brewery, and more.
Bronx Fashion Week showcases the creativity and passion The Bronx has always possessed.
Bronx creatives within their borough, showing what they are capable of to the rest of New York and the world.
To the rest of New York City, the Bronx is often “too far away.” Perhaps Staten Island feels the same. When I would mention Bronx Fashion Week to non-Bronxites, it would be laughed off or thought of as “cute,” usually in a condescending manner. Very few people believe anything is here, and even less would give The Bronx a chance to see it for themselves.
This event’s theme was geared toward women’s fashion.
However, great events like this are happening all the time in the Bronx. I would love to personally show you.
This event, foreshadows Bronx Fashion Week which will take place September 17, 2015. Check out their home page for more info! I hope to see you there.
