WHAT ARE DAPPER DOTS
Dapper Dots are part of the brand Fearless Fashion Tape. They are shaped like dots to cover common menswear issues. The stickers are fabric safe so feel free to put this anywhere. Now you might be thinking, why do do I need such a thing? Well here are a few ways Dapper Dots can hack your menswear game.
HOLD YOUR COLLAR DOWN
The most common application is to hold down your collar when you’re not wearing a tie. There are other brands that are metal collar stays but use powerful magnets to keep your collar in place. However, that means your need a shirt with removable collar stays. You would slide the collar stay into the pouch and then put the magnet on the inside of your shirt to hold your collar. Dapper Dots is a fabric safe dot which you press to your collar. Both have their uses, but one has an advantage.
Dapper Dots look more natural, and you won’t see it inside the shirt. They are are clear! Metal collar stays with magnets are very tight. To remove Dapper Dots, it is pulled off with no build-up or residue. You can also leave it on if you aren’t going to wash your shirt. If you accidentally leave it on and launder your shirt, it will come off in the washer. With metal collar stays, you need to remember to take off the magnet and stay — if you forget, you can lose the magnet!
USE ON POLO SHIRTS
Dapper Dots can be used on polo shirts. You can’t use metal collar stays on polo shirts! On that note, metal collar stays don’t work on any shirt except a shirt with a removable collar stay.
USE ON OTHER ACCESSORIES
Dapper Dots can also be used with pocket squares and as a hidden button. A metal collar stay cannot. Dapper Dots are disposable, but metal collar stays last until you lose them. So that’s a point for metal collar stays!
