Costume Idea: Great Gatsby

With October coming up, you may be thinking, “What am I going to wear for Halloween?.” Well it’s time to take the clothes you already have and make it work!

Here are some costume ideas that are DIY, or easily obtainable! Today we are tackling: Great Gatsby. Got a dinner gala, cosplay or group Halloween costume coming up? A Great Gatsby or roaring 20’s inspired style is a recognizable look that can be easy to pull off with the right pieces.

Ties.com black bow tie or white bow tie | black socks | KK & JAY Shirt Garters | Brooks Brothers tuxedo wing collar tuxedo shirt or Buttoned Down tuxedo shirt | Florsheim tuxedo shoes

If you don’t already have a black tuxedo, here are some options.

We aren’t going for complete accuracy, just being able to pull off a look with what we have. If you already have clothes like these, perfect! A black tuxedo, bow tie (preferably black or white) and white shirt will set the tone of the look. Put them together and find yourself a flapper!

Great Gatsby Group Halloween Costume

I teamed up with fellow bloggers, Megan (wearing green), Gita (wearing gold) and Jackie (wearing red) for our Group Halloween Costume.

Megan: Long Fringe Dress | Art Deco Medallion Headpiece | Pumps

Jackie: Flapper Dress | Vintage Feather Headpiece | bareMinerals Matte Lipstick in Blackberry | Capezio Fishnets

Gita: Coin Earrings | Beaded Flapper Dress | 1920s Headband | Pumps

Throw in a a straw hat if you’d like. When doing Great Gatsby or Roaring 20s, it’s all about you playing the character and the rest of your group having fun!

Thanks for reading and y’all stay dandy.
