Spring is finally here in NYC (about time!), and it’s time to break out the spring coat. Or it might be time to totally invest in a new one for those of you looking to upgrade or replace your trusty old piece. Don’t worry, I got you covered! Here are three ways to wear a collar coat for spring.
There are certain classic pieces that are prerequisites in a dandy gentleman’s wardrobe, and a spring coat is definitely one of them. The Uniqlo Men’s Blocktech Convertible Collar Coat is a great, super versatile alternative to the classic trench coat that you can both easily dress up or down.

Here is a men’s style tip on how I take 1 collar coat and wear it 3 different ways.
1. Athleisure Life
Athleisure has become a definitive style in its own. What started out as a trend, has now become a way of life and new subcategory of uber cool style. Even as a dandy gent, my athleisure look is still dressed up. Style protip; when doing an athleisure look, opt for a neutral palette; it looks more sophisticated and polished, an ideal look for hopping around town. For this look, I was inspired by keeping it simple by pairing the black collar coat with a grey sweater, dark grey stretch pants, and black leather sneakers for a clean effortless look. I finished the look with a blue bag for some added depth, and my trademark watch. The collar coat, definitely helps make my outfit still look refined, but still gives me that element of stretch and ventilation in activewear.

2. Workwear Life
A spring coat is not only an essential in your everyday wardrobe, but most importantly in your workwear repertoire. Braving the fickle spring weather on your commute to work doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style or quality. You can totally have your cake and eat it! For this look, I paired the khaki Uniqlo blocktech collar coat with a black turtleneck, black selvedge jeans, brown chelsea boots, and my signature watch for an edgy wear to work look, when you need to give the dress slacks a day off. Men’s style protip; dark denim is great workwear alternative for a more relaxed day at the office, while still giving you that dressed up, but casual Friday feel. Perfectly topping off the look with the collar coat, your coat is doing double duty, like your shift last night at the office. Win! Win!

3. Casual Weekend Life
You all know by now that even my version of weekend casual requires a suit. For the third look, I am sharing how to get that off-duty balance with the black Uniqlo blocktech collar coat and the Uniqlo Kando suit. I know what you’re thinking, how is this possibly? A suit AND coat styled casually? So it’s all about flexibility, and finding that balance with the pieces. For this look, I paired the collar coat and the Kando suit with the Andy Warhol striped tee, leather sneakers, and my trusty bold faces watch, for a modern take on casual suiting. The collar coat definitely brings this look all together and provides that mobility for whatever the weekend might throw at you. I am Saturday night out and Sunday brunch with the guys ready!
