You need a way to keep your pants up, but you’re torn between a belt or suspenders. It might seem like a tough choice, but it really isn’t. Suspenders are the clear winner when compared to belts. Here are 7 reasons suspenders are better than belts.

Why are suspenders better than belts?

1. More Comfortable

You want to look your best, but you still want to be comfortable. Belts cinch at the waist, making you feel like you just ate too much. Suspenders hold your pants up without bringing in the waist, so you feel as good as you look.

2. No More Bunched-Up Dress Shirts

Cinching at the waste doesn’t just make you uncomfortable. It causes your dress shirts to bunch up. That leaves you looking frumpy. On the other hand, suspenders allow you to keep your shirts looking sharp. If you want to look your best, it’s time to make the change to suspenders.

3. So Many Choices

A belt is basically a belt, no matter what. Belts don’t really come in different styles. It’s not like you put on your party belt and then change it to your work belt. There are slight variations, but belts are basically all the same. Suspenders come in countless widths, styles, patterns, and colors. You can even choose the attachment type. That makes them so much more fun.

4. Promotes Good Posture

Good posture is essential for your overall health, but if you’re like most people, you tend to slump when you’re at the computer or walking around. You can improve your posture the easy way by wearing suspenders. Suspenders put slight pressure to your shoulders. This causes you to straighten up and have good posture. It’s not a conscious decision. You don’t feel like you need to stand, sit, and walk straighter, but it’s exactly what happens.

5. Better Circulation

A belt is like a tourniquet that goes around your waist. If it’s too tight, it can disrupt your circulation. Your body needs the blood to flow, so make the switch to suspenders. These don’t put pressure on your waist or any other part of your body, so they’re much safer to wear.

6. Look Thinner

Have you missed a few trips to the gym and your stomach is starting to stick out? Instead of worrying about it, throw on a pair of suspenders. Vertical stripes are thinning, so you will look several pounds lighter by donning a pair of suspenders.

7. A Distinct Fashion Accessory

Belts are subtle and often go unnoticed. Suspenders, on the other hand, are a distinct accessory and very fashionable. These accessories give you the chance to show off your personal style, whether it is classic or fun and funky. You get to make a statement every time you put on a pair of suspenders. The same can’t be said about belts.

Suspenders clearly beat out belts. You look and feel better when you wear suspenders, and you stand out for all of the right reasons. It’s time to get rid of your belts and wear suspenders full time.
